Barbara Goalen, Bronwen Pugh (Lady
Astor), Pagan Grigg, Nina de Voe and Jenny Hocking (became
Fashion Editor
for Harpers) Followed by Wenda Rogerson (became Parkinson's
third wife in the early Fifties) Sue Abrahams. Parks
said at that time, she was the most beautiful woman he
had ever known. Enid Munick 'Scutty' Boulting who married
Roy,
one of the Boulting Brothers, directors, making classic
British Films and Ingrid Boultings parents.
All wonderfully
'free spirits' who represented the 'wind of change' and
independence. Sandra Paul (later Michael Howard's wife
and author), Suzy Parker and
her sister Dorian Leigh, who started the first Model Agency
in Paris). Lisa Fonsangrives (wife of Irving Penn), Carmen
dell' Orifice, whom he called 'his greatest friend'. She
began
modeling at the age of fifteen and continues still into
another millenium. Carmen 'In the Bahamas' on water skis,
under water in a diving bell and famously, when
asked to stand in a swamp of flamingo guano to get one
of Parks most iconic shots (agreed only if "he promised
to 'Kiss Carmen's Arse' as she emerged!) Wonderful images
of Dolores
Wettach
and Carmen in Rio, Ann Gunning in India, followed by a
new discovery whilst he was in Sweden, Nena von Schlebrugge,
a schoolgirl of fifteen, who later married Timothy Leary,
then married Professor Thurman and had a daughter called
Uma.
Models 1960's
Parkinson discovered Celia
Hammond and worked with Jean Shrimpton and Sue Murray,
(both David Bailey's
girlfriends)
Pattie Boyd who appeared in The Beatles film 'A Hard days
Night' and married George Harrison. Melanie Hampshire
and
Jill Kennington (who appeared in Antonioni's seminal film
of the decade 'Blowup'). Tania Mallet who appeared with
007 Sean Connery as Tilly Masterton in 'Goldfinger'. .
. Pat Booth and Jill Kennington later both turned to photography,
Pat also becoming a fictional writer in Los Angeles. Catherine
Pastrie 'Every Glance a Gaughin' in Tahiti and Nicole
de
la Marge,'one of the most versatile faces in modelling',
with the 'angelic' looking Stones, showing "How
to Kill Five Stones with one Bird".
